No one expected a brand-new IP to steal the show, but Ananta did exactly that during Gamescom. Developed by a newly formed super-studio of veteran RPG directors, this sci-fi action epic seamlessly blends high-speed, character-action combat with a dense, procedurally assisted cyberpunk metropolis. Slated for an early December 2026 release, it is already generating massive hype—and fear for our graphics cards.
Combat Mechanics: Verticality and Synergy
The gameplay presentation showcased a hyper-kinetic combat system that looks like a fusion of Devil May Cry execution and Cyberpunk 2077 environmental hacking.
- Grav-Tethering: The protagonist can dynamically tether to airborne drones, ripping them down to the street level to create area-of-effect shockwaves.
- Seamless Transitions: Moving from high-speed motorcycle chases directly into on-foot arena battles happens without a single dropped frame or loading screen masking the transition.
Achieving this seamless speed across massive city districts relies entirely on CPU multi-threading to handle asset decompression on the fly.

Running on a highly customized build of Unreal Engine 5.4, Ananta pushes Nanite geometry to the extreme to render thousands of flying vehicles and neon-lit skyscrapers.

The VRAM Bottleneck
The developers noted during the post-show deep dive that running Ananta at 4K resolution with ultra textures will require a minimum of 16GB of VRAM. GPUs with 8GB will be strictly relegated to 1080p gaming unless heavy DLSS or FSR upscaling is applied, as the dense pedestrian and traffic AI instantly flood memory buffers.
